  • West London Zone is an early intervention charity. We help children and young people build the relationships and skills they need to get on track Socially, Emotionally and Academically, believing that by targeting these key areas of development we can empower children to fulfil their potential. We call this “creating SEA change”.

    We’re looking for a dedicated Development Manager with experience in Trusts and

    Foundations fundraising, who will be a key member of our Business Development Team to

    support us to continue to grow. This role will play a vital part in our planned growth for next

    year, with Trusts & Foundations at the forefront of our fundraising strategy moving forward

    (with an ambitious target of £1.65m). This job requires relationship management experience,

    exceptional writing skills and a good understanding of how to position West London Zone and

    our work within applications and funder reports. We are also committed to your personal

    development with a full management training package offered as well as ad hoc training

    opportunities. If you are passionate about changing the lives of children in west London,

    excited by our high impact delivery and funding model, confident using qualitative and

    quantitative evidence, with a talent for good relationship management – we want to hear from

    Key responsibilities

    Deliver Trust & Foundation income to target

    • To renew existing small to medium (£5,000 – £50,000) T&F portfolio and secure new income
    • to achieve annual targets.
    • To work closely with the other T & F Development Manager to achieve overall target of
    • £1.65m in 2022-23.
    • To develop a strong T&F pipeline through excellent prospect research and targeting.
    • To work closely with the team to develop compelling content for engaging current donors
    • (online funder briefings, impact events and written updates).

    Donor and Relationship Management

    • To manage own portfolio of donors and create compelling targeted funding propositions,
    • which fit with key funding themes working closely with the wider organisation to ensure a
    • high level of detail.
    • To hold and deliver an engagement plan for all current and priority prospects.
    • Case for support and stewardship
    • To adapt existing case for support materials for individual purposes.
    • To produce high quality proposals, donor reports and presentations
    • To work with the Head of Philanthropy to develop a programme of supporter engagement
    • events, communications and opportunities.

    Cross-organisational responsibilities

    • To work with managers across the organisation on cross-functional projects
    • To plan cross-organisational dependencies appropriately and ensure effective ways of working
    • with other teams (impact, finance & resources, partnerships).
    • Responsibilities of all WLZ Employees
    • Comply with all relevant WLZ Safeguarding policies
    • Maintain an awareness of health and safety and comply with WLZ’s Health and Safety Procedures
    • Any other job related duties as assigned
    • A flexible approach to work is essential. All WLZ staff may sometimes be required to adapt their
    • duties to take account of changes in work practices
