Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
As a Client Engineer you will manage the End User Computing (EUC) experience across the company’s laptop and mobile environments. This role reports in to the Lead Client Engineer.
  • Operating as part of the centre of excellence across the Full Stack of Microsoft Office 365 and Cloud hosted services and be key to the Vanquis adoption path through the M365 roadmap, changing the way the business works and the shape of support. Key role in sharing knowledge of Microsoft 365 within IT Department and wider teams
  • BAU management of the company’s existing mobile endpoint solutions for laptop, tablet, mobile, Surface Hub and Microsoft Teams Rooms devices using Microsoft Intaune, Windows Autopilot and Apple Business Manager
  • Management of incident and request queue for Client Engineering and Azure Virtual Desktop (Salesforce)
  • Completion of low level design documentation relating to EUC projects, ensuring that key documentation is captured and signed off with relevant stakeholders before services are transitioned in to production
  • Guide and mentor Desktop Services Engineer, sharing knowledge of laptop and mobile device skills. Provide support for the purpose of project co-ordination, imagining, re-imaging PCs, break/fix scenarios, acting as an escalation point for desktop related incidents
  • Active participation in a continuous learning culture where the development of new skills and knowledge is paramount to the success of both role and career
  • Involvement in regular performance-and-development conversations with line manager
  • Comply with the organisations Information Security Policy, and all subordinate policies and local procedures
  • Protect the organisation assets in line with the requirements set out in the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Promote the 365 stack, inclusive of SharePoint, Office, Exchange, and Collaboration tooling (Teams, Yammer) knowledge and best practise sharing through the engineering and support teams for Windows and Office 365, with cross-skilling and training colleagues Management of and maturity of device and application management solutions through Intune MDM and MAM services
  • Develop, maintain, and support Windows desktop images and services
  • Management and maintenance of our remote devices– Mobile phones, laptops, tablets and Mac through build control and Intune
  • Drive knowledge and best practise sharing through the engineering and support teams for Windows and Office 365, with cross-skilling and training colleagues
  • Write and maintain troubleshooting, technical and user level documentation, process and procedural documentation
  • Maintain and own a backlog of items, working with an agility focus and sprint construct to deliver them
  • Provide guidance, support and suggestions for resolving issues and service improvements
  • Develop and document procedures for support and operations of the Office 365 suite through the Service and Business Teams
  • Comply with the organisations Information Security Policy, and all subordinate policies and local procedures
  • Protect the organisation assets in line with the requirements set out in the Acceptable Use Policy
Knowledge and Experience Requirements to Perform Role
Essential Skills
  • Previous experience working in an EUC role
  • Deep SME level knowledge across Microsoft 365 coupled with a background supporting colleagues using Microsoft 365 environments and applications
  • Strong communication skills, along with troubleshooting, problem-solving and technical skills
  • AZ900 or higher Microsoft qualification to ensure a clear understanding of full-stack cloud environment
  • Extensive experience with Azure portal at Global Admin level
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows 10 deployment and management, Office 365, SCCM, WDS, AutoPilot, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, MDM solutions (Intune/Endpoint Management), Group Policy Management, Direct Access, AlwaysOnVPN, MFA, MCAS,SSO and identity management
  • Experience with managing deployments Windows OS, Mac OS, iOS and ipad
  • Knowledge of network services (VLAN, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience using PowerShell commandlet knowledge for Azure and Office 365 to administer reporting functionality within Active Directory
  • Understanding of JSON, XML
  • Working in a fast-pace environment with demanding support SLAs
  • Possess a ‘customer centric’ attitude coupled with excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage a busy workload
  • ITIL – within Service and Service Delivery/ ITIL Foundation / Qualification
  • Working in Agile methodology and experience with Azure DevOps
  • Azure knowledge and certifications

  • Devops Aware / Qualification
  • Experience of working with Infrastructure as code
  • Experience with MDM for Macbook and Apple Business Manager

  • Experience using Avanti MEM
  • Previous experience using Rapid7 for the purpose of vulnerability management
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager Co-Management with SCCM
  • Working with Azure Infrastructure and Networking elements.
