We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Administrative assistant to provide clerical support and a wide range of administrative duties to the Enhanced Patient Observation (EPO) service. The EPO service provides 1:1 support to patients who lack capacity to make safe decisions and we work virtually across all the medical wards. The postholder will be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the service. They will also provide general assistance to the staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant needs to be able to work confidently and competently to ensure the smooth running of the service. An excellent telephone manner is required as the post holder will be our point of contact for staff and relatives.
Your main duties will be admitting patients to the service, keeping data up to date, contacting wards daily and providing general admin support.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work well within a team; together with an ability to prioritise workloads and work flexibly under pressure to achieve deadlines. The post holder must also be able to use their own initiative and assist with the development of the service.

- Keyboard Skills
- The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
- RSA 2 typing/word processing or equivalent
- Previous hospital based experience
- NVQ qualification
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous office experience (minimum of 6 months)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience dealing with the public
