      What do we need?*

      We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager to join our Platform Modules function as we create the next generation of materials management and workflow management capabilities targeted at Life Sciences companies. In this role, you will help create world class critical to our Scientific Platform. We are on a mission to empower scientists with best-in-class software that accelerates scientific discovery. This is a high-profile and ongoing initiative with the organization.

      A Technical Product Manager is a key member of the Product Management team, acting as a customer proxy to translate requirements into product features. A Technical Product Manager works with all product stakeholders to define and prioritize stories in the product backlog. In conjunction with the Product management team, a Technical Product Manager’s role is to help develop and maintain the roadmaps for assigned products and ensure that these align with the strategic product portfolio objectives, as defined. You’ll be working with an mixed UK & off-shore development team.
      Responsibilities:

      • Market requirements
      • Define and articulate the product vision
      • Contribute to the product portfolio strategy
      • Customer engagement
      • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to shape product requirements
      • Participate in user research to identify pain points and validate customer needs.
      • Help create wireframes and clickable prototypes to communicate ideas
      • Engagement
      • Collaborate with Product marketing to manage the launch of new software release
      • Develop, maintain and communicate product roadmaps
      • Support the creation of material for internal training (e.g. product position document for sales, demo script and technical presentation template for pre-sales scientists)
      • Set product scope and objectives
      • Collaborate with software development leaders to translate customer or market requirements into software requirements.
      • Translate customer needs into PRDs, user stories, workflows, personna’s, etc..
      • Build, edit and maintain the product backlog and organize into releases that align to both business objectives and customer requirements.
      • Ensure that the sufficient details are available in time for developers
      • Defining acceptance criteria: Participate in drafting, reviewing and validation
      • Participate in Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospectives – provide goals and partner to optimize “bang for buck”
      • Program planning
      • Coordinates dependencies with other PMs and POs

      Qualifications: To be successful you should have at least MSc in a relevant software or science-based field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Materials science), as well as a minimum of 4+ years Product Management, Business Analyst or Technical Management role. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, and should also demonstrate:

      Experience in software domains with a high degree of complexity

      • Ability writing stories and detailed requirements (Confluence, Jira)
      • Fluency in Web technologies (HTML, JS, CSS, APIs) to work with engineers
      • Hands-on experience using Postman (APIs) and Chrome Dev Tools
      • Familiarity with modern infrastructure and practices (e.g. AWS, SSO, security)
      • Familiarity working with databases and data analysis (SQL)
      • A proven track record working as part of a cross-functional team delivering on time and to specification
      • Preferably, experience working with laboratory informatics systems including Electronic Lab Notebooks, Inventory management, or work request/work management systems.
